Enforcement of awards and judgments pronounced by various courts in India has been a time consuming process. This becomes more onerous when reliance is placed by a party to the dispute upon an award or judgment which is passed in a country other than India. Under the Indian Law, execution of awards and judgments, whether foreign or domestic, is governed by the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure, 108 (CPC) (as amended from time to time).
