What shareholder activism really means is, a revolutionary action for exercising their democratic right to effect social, environmental and corporate change and to build better, more sustainable business which in turn help the corporations becomebetter governed business overhall. Ther are numerous weapons in the activist armoury that empower the stakeholders to involve themselves in setting the situation right, whenever they are of the view that the company in which their financial and physical capital are invested is being mnaged in an unethical/inefficient/irresponsible manner and that may endanger safty of their investment and risk their peronal reputation and respect.
